Thecountries involved include South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe,Namibia, Angola, Lesotho, Zambia and others. This is a significantdevelopment in Africa with far-reaching implications for conservation,land use options, political science and geographic science,international trade, and biosecurity concerns such as possible impactson important diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease. GIS was and is usedthroughout the process of transfrontier conservation planning andimplementation.
